Abstract

Mirzā Abdolghāder Bidel (1054-1133), has tried in his works, to determine the role of reader, types of readers, and ideal reader, as well as the interaction of the author with readers. There are different periods in the literary life of Bidel, and in each he adopts a different approach. In the beginning he is in need of a vast audience; next he desires to address the elite, and finally he goes beyond the distinction between public or elite readers and prefers to write in a way that any sort of audience might take its own benefit from the text. This article apart from dealing with these points tries to show the reasons for such attitudes
