One among them is narrative study which seems to be very interesting for scholars. Tzvetan Todorof, the Bulgarian critic, has developed a comprehensive framework for narrative analysis of literary texts which comprises semantic, syntactic and lexical aspects. This article focuses on the syntactic aspect of narrative in Attār’s Mosibatnāme. The results show that the macro-narrative of Mosibatnāme is made up of one major sequence and forty two minor sequences. The two series of sequences are connected to each other through chaining, and all of them are embedded in the third episode of the major sequence. Chaining of the sequences orders the forty stages in a narrative line so that they will be embedded as a journey in the great evolution that the disciples go through. نگاه ساختارگرایی به متون ادبی، از منظرهای متعددی صورت پذیرفته‌است. یکی از این منظرها مطالعۀ روایی است. از میان ساختارگرایان روایتشناس، تزوتان تودوروف یکی از کامل‌ترین الگوها را برای مطالعۀ متون روایی به دست میدهد که شامل سه نمود معنایی، کلامی و نحوی است. این مقاله به بررسی نمود نحوی روایت در مصیبتنامۀ عطار، از دیدگاه تودوروف میپردازد. در این پژوهش، تنها روایت کلان مصیبتنامه مطالعه شده‌است. حاصل پژوهش آنکه مصیبت‌نامه را میتوان در یک پیرفت پایه و چهل‌ودو پیرفت فرعی مطالعه کرد که از راه زنجیرهسازی به یکدیگر متصل و همگی در اپیزود سومِ (اپیزود گذارِ) پیرفت پایه درونهگیری شدهاند. زنجیرهسازی پیرفتها، مراتب چهلگانه را از نظر روایی در طول یکدیگر قرار داده و این سفر چهلمرحلهای را در دل تحول بزرگ سالک به صورت درونهگیری قرار داده‌است.
