Emergence of the mythical figure of Bahrām, twenty years after the peaceful kingship of Yazdgerd, is noticeable as a strategic action to fill the discursive gap in Zoroasterian society. The narrative tradition of Zoroasterianism places Bahrām in the discursive knot, and makes elements like courage, inland and outland wars to turn around him. This article intends to perform a critical analysis of “Death of Yazdgerd” and “Snatching the crown between two lions” based on three reports named Tārikh-e Tabari, Tārikh-e Sa’ālebi, and the historical part of Ferdowsi’s Shāhname. The theoretical basis of the research is a combination of Fairclough and Laclau and Mouffe’s reading of critical discourse analysis, and the goal of the study is to reveal the ideological infra-structures and power relations in the discursive order of the narrators and narratives. The comparison between the two narratives related to Yazdgerd and Bahrām implies the dominance of the ideological narrative on reformulation of religious myths and their role on historical configuration of the texts

Women’s identity in Iran, the same as in other countries, has taken form under the influence of many socio-cultural institutions such as Family, Education, Media. In our time literature, due to the remarkable participation of women, has played an important role in the formation of this identity. This article studies seven Persian novels of 2000’s written by women whose concern has been, in one way or another, the matter of identity. The results of the study indicate three classifications in identity representation: 1) novels which are explicitly in search of women identity; 2) novels which are implicitly concerned with the concept of identity; 3) novels which show no interest in women identity. This third group falls mostly in the category of popular novels.

One of the goals of feminine style is taking advantage of the findings of linguistic in order to analyze the stylistic features of the works written by women. This article intends to search for the feminine features of Tājossaltane’s Memoirs, a very remarkable feminine prose in Qajar dynasty. The studied features include markedness of the words, frequent use of the expressive elements like adjectives and adverbs, implicit or even ambiguous structures, the role of intensifiers, vocative and invocative sentences, paranthesis, ungrammatical forms, unfinished sentences, effect of suprasegmental features, simplification, particularism, and representation of feelings and body. It should be mentioned that the personal position and social status of the author have concealed some of the feminine elements. In addition, his high education is the reason for a great amount of complicated sentences

This article intends to prove that Persian Classical Ghazal has a complex structure. To do this, at first a definition will be given of the complex structure and then it will be shown that the components of Ghazal can be divided into two groups of “linguistic constituents” and “musical constituents”. Recursion, reference, collocation, synonymy, antonymy, substitution, hyponymy belong to the former, and rhythm, rhyme, identical rhyme, alliteration, trace, crossed rhyme, and analogue belong to the latter. The interaction among these constituents gives existence to a network of relations that will lead to an internal system which we call “complex structure”. This can be, among all, the reason for the existence of paradigmatic interactions in ghazal.

Julia Kristeva, the post structuralist literary critic, has a deep understanding of the concepts related to “Emigrant’s literature”, such as “Other”, “Otherness”, “Alien” and “Alienation”. In her book “Stranger to Ourselves”, she analyzes the psycho-sociological factors of “otherness” through concentrating on the constituents like identity, space and time, mother tongue, detachment from one’s culture, and negligence of the cultural heritage. In this article, Anārbānu and her Sons, from a collection entitle Another Place by Goli Taraghi, is analyzed as a text in which alienation and otherness are effectively represented. The study shows that immigration as well as detachment from the motherland creates an “Other” which will never find a new “Self”.

Structuralism, since its emergence, has adopted different perspectives for analyzing literary texts. One among them is narrative study which seems to be very interesting for scholars. Tzvetan Todorof, the Bulgarian critic, has developed a comprehensive framework for narrative analysis of literary texts which comprises semantic, syntactic and lexical aspects. This article focuses on the syntactic aspect of narrative in Attār’s Mosibatnāme. The results show that the macro-narrative of Mosibatnāme is made up of one major sequence and forty two minor sequences. The two series of sequences are connected to each other through chaining, and all of them are embedded in the third episode of the major sequence. Chaining of the sequences orders the forty stages in a narrative line so that they will be embedded as a journey in the great evolution that the disciples go through.

The nature of language and its development has always been a matter of concern for philosophers and thinkers. Excluding the ideas of Plato, the studies on language throughout history have been diachronic. Nevertheless, Saussure Introduced a new approach called “synchronic” to the studies of language. Saussure, following the strategy of Kant, searches before everything, for the dimensions of language and finds out that three dimensions of langue, langage and parole can be distinguished. In Iran, it was Nāser Khosro who distinguished four dimensions of Nafs-e Nāteghe (rational soul), Notgh (speech), Ghowl (statement) and Kalām (parole). This article does its best to show the correspondence between the above-mentioned terms of the two thinkers.
