The first stage in most mythological stories is the “Birth of Hero” which according to Mircea Eliade and Joseph Campbell is a symbolic reference to the “Womb of Earth” and verifies man’s desire to return to “Initial Womb” in order to be finally united with The Great Mother. The present study, by taking benefit of the psychological ideas of Sigmund Freud and Otto Rank as well as the mythological notions put forward by Raglan, Jung and Eliade tries to find the traces of this myth in folk tales. The findings of the study will help researchers to discover the themes and plots of many tales which conventionally make use of metaphysical elements

Any deep reading of literary texts should not only take the whole text into account, but pay attention to socio-cultural context necessary for its production. The present article, primarily examines the outlook which asserts the impossibility of a deconstructive reading of mystical texts; then, through tracing out the mystical elements in Deconstruction which are similar to ideas introduced in Islamic and Jewish mysticism, and also by considering the fact that Derrida himself, took no sides against theocratic and even religious readings of his works, determines the relation between Deconstruction and Mysticism as a macro-narrative

Mirzā Abdolghāder Bidel (1054-1133), has tried in his works, to determine the role of reader, types of readers, and ideal reader, as well as the interaction of the author with readers. There are different periods in the literary life of Bidel, and in each he adopts a different approach. In the beginning he is in need of a vast audience; next he desires to address the elite, and finally he goes beyond the distinction between public or elite readers and prefers to write in a way that any sort of audience might take its own benefit from the text. This article apart from dealing with these points tries to show the reasons for such attitudes

Siāvash is one of the controversial figures in Persian literature and mythology whose story has been the theme of a great number of research articles. In a recently published book entitled “Afarin-e Siāvash”, Khojasteh Kiā has proposed a challenging point of view about this character which is needed to be pinpointed to see how much the outlook adopted in the book is justified. The present article does its best to find out whether the book of Khojasteh Kiā follows a scientific mythological method, and thus comes to the conclusion that the outlook is based on surface structural attitudes and analogies which by nature can never end in a deep structural and thorough understanding of the text.
